As a family we decided to raise our four children following what the
children we had worked with had taught us to do-what we felt was
instinctively right. In selling the Over the Shoulder Baby Holder
we have the privilege of knowing many people who understand children
and are willing to share what they believe with us. Putting these
parenting principles into practice does not guarantee that you will
have perfect children, but you are ‘stacking the deck’ in your favor.
We’re forever in awe at how God directed our life toward making
and selling products that help other families do what is best for
their babies. We weren’t a dynamic marketing team, but other families
responded to us. In time, dozens and dozens of the worlds top baby
experts chimed in endorsing the song that the children with special
needs taught us~that all children need to be held often, held long,
breastfed, connected with, cuddled with, interacted with and simply
loved as God intended. So that’s what we do; that’s what every product

History of ‘The Original’ baby sling!
 In the beginning.we named
our first Elsa, after the lion in Born Free. She was birthed naturally
and crawled over Papa to breastfeed on demand. It wasn’t until our
second baby that we realized we only had two hands. In search of
the perfect baby holder our collection of new carriers piled up
in our closet, they were just not right!
One day we saw an adjustable padded sling that was invented by Dr.
Rayner Garner. Rayner had seen various slings as used in cultures
all over the world and westernized it with the 2 ring buckle system.
It wasn’t long before we birthed the Over the Shoulder Baby Holder in 1987
and formed a relationship with Rayner. We quickly became friends
with a common cause. Soon we joined forces to pioneer to American
families what had been in existence almost since creation. First
there were the Slendungs, and the Robozos and finally, the Over the
Shoulder Baby Holder.
We were both from large families of self employed parents so it
seemed only natural to follow in their footsteps and start our own
home business. Taking it one step further, we began to offer distributorship
opportunities to others to not only benefit their babies, but help
support their families as well. Our motto has evolved into ‘Families
helping Families’. We are small, but we are proud and blessed to
have grown from our very humble home where we personally hand made
the first OTSBH’s in our second bedroom. We marketed them first
from a garage sale, then loaded up our VW station wagon and headed
out at 5:00 a.m. to our local swap meet. From there we hit every
art and craft show, baby faire, asparagus festival, strawberry festival, ocean
festival and pumpkin festival etc. in the west coast. It wasn’t
long before we had to move into a bigger house, then to a small
shop with our first employees.
Our business was not only built on a good thing, but believing in
a good thing. We are thankful daily doing what we love best. However,
it doesn’t quite fit into the mold of what others call work, it’s
more like a labor of love~
